I had combined the chapter before (Chapter 5) with Chapter 6. Chapter 5 is more of an introduction to microphones. Chapter 6 is a bit more complex than that. So we are combining two lessons to learn what the microphones are in the studio and how they work as well. I am excited to do my first experimenting in the studio, and then be able to use the knowledge about the microphones in my work for the future. There are many different microphones and miking techniques. Like Dynamic mics, Compressor mics and Accent mics to name a few types. All of these mics perform differently in different situations. You could pick up recordings on any of these mics but some will excel in the studio a bit more depending on the mic. The environment, microphone position, type of microphone, and the individual player all effect the way this sounds. The wiring and inside of mics all vary, some are filled with granules of carbon and seperated plates of metal, otherwise known as the carbon button microphone. There is a variety of stuff I am waiting to experience myself.
