New Directions Posted on 2015-01-08 by Noah Dekel

So it has been a while since I updated this blog and a lot has changed since. I changed the curriculum of the school to the new 'work on 3 student films' and have been enjoying it immensely. I chose to take a lone wolf approach to the new curriculum, it's not that I don't like working with other people, I just wanted to use this oppurtuinty to really experiment with all the steps of making a short film. For my first project, "Ghost Killaz" I chose to write, direct, compose, and edit. Through that experience I was really able to find my strengths and weaknesses as well as get a better Idea of what I enjoy doing most while working on a film, as of now I really enjoy writing and directing.

As how things are going with my mentor, it's been kind of slow, mostly due to the holiday season. We do have a big studio project coming up in the next few months. It's my mentors first big studio project and we are both very excited about it. I've always wanted to work on a major studio film and better yet, its a science fiction film which happens to be my favorite genre. I couldn't be more pumped about it.

I'm already getting things started on my next student project and have a bigger production coming up at the end of the month working as a production office intern on a shoot. It's going to be my first production without working with my mentor. It looks like the next month or two is going to be really busy and I can't wait!
