Aaron Weitlauf Film Connection

2018 "My journey so far" Posted on 2019-02-09 by Aaron Weitlauf

My skill level at the start of this program in August was a beginner and a novice at best I was brand new to a film set and now I'm directing my own videos and making promising relationships with clients as a filmmaker. I had the privilege of making a promotional video for Nashville’s Oktoberfest. The festival was three days and included hundreds of vendors, products and live music. The objective of the video was the bring out the best Oktoberfest had to offer and highlight it In under 60 seconds. The finished product was adored by our client and I felt confident in accomplishing our goal. I’ve kept a great relationship with Sergio Vazquez working on Masters of the Box have been my favorite shoots so far. On the most recent masters of the box shoot, we were doing combat choreography in relation to fight scenes. Watching a seasoned director work with actors in a combat setting was insightful. My opinions were taken into consideration and I feel I left my mark on the shoot and impressed the director. I now have the confidence to properly square up two individuals in an intense action scene. I'm grateful to even watch let alone be involved in the creative decision making. On top of that, I've also had a change of pace making videos like music videos and electronic press kits. I did a video with Bryce Hitchcock and the singing duo Haley and Michaels who are very promising country music artists. My first shot a directing a music video was Jamie Floyd’s “what I see in me”. I chose great locations and made a quality video without spending any money or hiring a crew. I’ve also built a great relationship with the WCAR which is a company that focuses on luxury property listings I’ve filmed 3 promotional videos for their company. The relationship I've built with WCAR (Williamson County Association of Realtors) opens up a new opportunity for me as a filmmaker. I’ve noticed a lot of realtors like to advertise their luxury listings on Facebook and other social media. I’ve taken the liberty to offer my services as a promotional filmmaker for the association. I’ve recently acquired a filmmaking drone that takes high-quality aerial photographs and video. Using this drone I am able to accurately and effectively advertise the property and its included acres and surrounding features. Advertising luxury home listings with drone footage is a brand new revenue stream for the industry. I have the potential to start a new business. I've already acquired the connections and realtors are always looking for new ways to reach out to potential buyers. I’m very excited to see what 2019 has in store for me.
