Gordon Maniskas — Massachusetts Film Connection
After spending several years working in New York as an actor, I made the big leap and tried my hand at screenwriting. After working some small productions with several production companies in the city, I decided that it was time to put all my cards on the table and move back to Massachusetts to apprentice at Media Boss TV through The Film Connection.
Having spent my entire life day-dreaming and fantasizing about far off worlds, fantasy realms, knights, wizards, aliens, and beyond, I have long yearned to share the landscape of my imagination with the rest of the world. What medium besides film allows you to do that?
Living in a time where it is all too easy to be absorbed by political talking points, international turmoil, and the deterioration of the American Dream, it has never been as important as it is now to create films that can transport people to another time and place. Film is the great unifier, allowing us to see through the eyes of people the likes of which we never have, and probably never will, meet. It lets us empathize with their suffering and hope for them to accomplish their dreams. If there is any hope to change the world to the place of peace and tranquility that we all want it to be, it is through the ability that Film has to make us question our own ideas and challenge our preconceptions.
This is why I love film and why I am so thrilled to be a member of the artists' community.
