7/20/14, from 5:30pm to 8:30pm
We got a bit of a late start on today’s rehearsal, but we got right to work to make up for it. Two of my actors got held up Eric (Thurmond) had a talk-back after his play, and Alina (Ursery) had a make-up session run a little long. Dan and I set up the shots I wanted. I ran my ideas by him. He gave me his feedback. I asked him for pointers. He gave me some great guidance. It went really well.
As we rehearsed, Dan took pictures and then recorded a read-through of the lines for a really cool story-board. I have never heard of this before, but he said that’s how Spielberg does it, and last time I checked, that guy has a handful of hits under his belt. I don’t think using his method guarantees success, but it’s an interesting idea, to say the least.
I wish I didn’t have to act in this thing. My pool of actors has been tapped. I’ve acted before. I’m doing what I have to do. It’s just one more stress that I really don’t need right now. But it’s ok. Soon, I’ll have this wrapped up. I’ll polish up my pitch and a few back-up ideas that I have just in case, and I’ll be ready for LA.
No pressure.
