Lesson #3 - The Hero with a Thousand Faces

After completing Lesson #3, I was intrigued with the discussion on creative discipline and how that is specifically what seperates a real storyteller. I am very particular when it comes to my own experiences and being able to creative and develop stories from my own life experiences. I learned from this chapter how significant it is to draw from your personal life and also to be more intentional about learning your genre.

Learnings from meeting with Mentor

For the last week, I have been able to work on the set of an upcoming short film and spent 4 days assisting as a Production Assistant. I was able to spend time with the director (creator of the story) and develop an understanding of how she began her writing and how her story developed. It was an amazing experience for me. I was able to see how the writing became visual and how the actors and actresses were able to bring it to life.
